With Bosh set to hit FA, Memories of T-Mac torment Raptor fans
What did we learn from the Tracy McGrady situation??
We learned that if a key player does not extend in season, he is not going to stay and is looking at greener pastures south of the border. T-Mac fled to the state of Florida and by most accounts, Chris Bosh will become a Florida resident as well, if not he will be following Wade to Chicago.
Now this is not an axiom; but this is what we Raptor fans have learned in relation to our franchise. Bosh wants FA so bad he is exercising his Early Termination Option.
With these memories in mind and with the trade deadline coming closer, BC has to seriously reconsider his sign-and-trade stance. Bosh does not need us for a sign-and-trade for any team besides the Lakers. Larger pay increases and an extra year might not mean as much if Bosh wishes to get one more max contract out of his playing career anyways. Also, giving up the pay increase will help his teams salary cap picture and thus, hopefully their competitiveness.
The time to trade Bosh is now, when every team is a potential player. If no good deal comes along, than, you wait until the off-season and hang the future of the franchise of the slim hope that Bosh agrees to a sign-and-trade or to stay.
Someone tell Bryan Colangelo, we have already learned our lesson, the hard way.
What do you think Raptor fans?? Is it time to move Bosh and assure ourselves compensation?? Or do we roll the dice and see what happens?? We want to hear your thoughts Raptor fans!! Leave a comment below or send us an email at raptorcity@raptorsdigest.com.

I understand the insecurities we Raptor fans have developed, but it is a bit of a stretch comparing Bosh to T-Mac.
Bosh is and has always been a pro. T- Mac is and alway was a selfish brat. T-Mac wanted to be “The Man” and felt he could not live in Vince’s shadow. Bosh is the man already and would become Robin to Wade’s Batman in Miami. Bosh likes Toronto, and has never had a bad word to say about the Organization or the city. T-Mac complained constantly about everything here.
Finally there is a problem with associating opting for Free agency, and wanting out of the city. Every big name in that draft class will opt for free agency this year, and most will stay with their current team. The reason for opting out is it gets your next big contract in under the current CBA which is certainly less restrictive than they expect the next one to be.
I admit it would be foolish not to entertain offers for Bosh this year, but unless its a blockbuster, it would be madness to trade him.

We roll the dice.
Bosh doesn’t seem like the type of guy who only looks out for himself. He shows loyalty and personality that who care for the people who have taken care of him.
He’s been here for 6 years. Sure the roster has been revamped, but long relationships with Triano, BC, Jose, Bargs and GT teammate JJ. Seems like enough people are there he doesn’t want to screw over.
Also, he’s the man here. He knows it and loves it. As long as we push a first round playoff series to the brink, chances are he will stay.
The media speculates this to death. Bosh will stay in TO, LBJ will stay in Cleveland. The only one in my mind that’s possibly on the move is Wade. If they bring in Amare there, Wade will stay.

You do know that there were other mitigating circumstances entirely different from the current which prompted Mcgrady to scoot…right? Like wanting to be “da man”, coaching and of course money (which he would not get as much of because of cousin Wince being in town).
To parrot the likes of Stephen Smith and other pundits south of the border who rarely provide specific insight or corroboration of their oft cited finality about Bosh’s departure is an anothor eye-roller to this reader.
It would be enlightening if someone could provide me with another take on why Bosh and Wade (same agent) and LBJ arranged for the parameters in their last deal? I believe it was primarily to time the start of their next deal BEFORE the next cba agreement ends next year which by all REAL accounts point to a drastic reduction in player salary and contract length nevermind guarantees. Of course this descision also provided flexibility with regard to the progress their individual teams made re: the workplace etc.
So, for the piece to intone: “Bosh wants FA so bad he is exercising his Early Termination Option.”….is another example of unsubstantiated hyperbole given the point I raised above.

I think one of the key differences between this situation and T-Mac is that T-Mac felt he was not treated well here, had no chance of being DA MAN as long as VC was in town, and from my memory made no bones about wanting to skip town. Bosh is DA MAN here, and he is surrounded by some good talent that can complement his skill set, and he has not indicated either way what he wants because from all accounts, he himself does not know either. Plus the Raptors are on a good legitimate run right now… so what kind of message would BC be sending to the Raptors fans if he trades away his best player?

I couldnt agree more there are some key differences, its the not extending and our fan base holding out hope, thats what I was trying to draw a comparison with

Ofcourse its not time to move Bosh. Ans this article is way too late. I can look back to last week and find this same article. Please try and dig for something new, because there will be no trade for Bosh.

Bulls if they clear space with Wade, or Heat with Wade, almost seems inevitable that those two play together next season
The Bulls would be much better because if they trade Hinrich they can have a starting 5 of…Noah, Bosh, Deng, Wade, Rose

I hope you guys are right, I guess I am just a pessimist.
I am under the thinking that if your franchise player wants to stay he EXTENDS, he doesn’t wait until FA to decide……playing with Wade in Miami or Chicago will likely trump his love for Jack
I love the optimism, or denial, or fellow Raptor fans, whatever it is, I hope you guys are right….but I have my doubts

The major point I was trying, but seemed to fail to drive home here is that Bosh does not need us for sign and trade….guess thats what I will call next article
