Raptors pull of two straight character victories

25 January 2010 One Comment

The Raptors may have turned the corner as far as it relates to closing out games.

In two successive games the Toronto Raptors have come from behind to win games that earlier in the season they would have mailed in. Granted these two wins came on home-court, but we saw the same fight from them vs. the Cavs when a couple of ugly shots late killed the momentum of a Raptor come from behind victory.

Jarrett Jack has been the major story in both of these victories playing a key role down the stretch of the Raptors last two games to help guide Toronto to the victory.

His strong play as of late has Raptors fans lighting up message boards discussing Jose Calderon trade rumours, and even tinkering with the ESPN trade machine to beget other possible scenarios.

The Raptors are expected to contend for the 5th seed this season and with victories like this, the Raptors confidence can only be growing.

Hedo Turkoglu, who has been subject to much media criticism and home crowd boo-birds, was the hero late in the Raptors come from behind victory against the Lakers when he forced his way to the line and sunk two key free throws to put the Raptors up by 1.
