Fantasy: Sleepers – Power Forwards

a randolphReading this list you may ask yourself, “Why in blue tarnations are these names considered sleepers??”   The answer is, quite simply, because they will outplay their ADP’s and heavily reward their fantasy G.M’s for picking them on draft day.

Anthony Randolph – If he can put it together like he did in the latter part of the 2nd half last year, Anthony Randolph will emerge as a top 5 PF in the NBA and Fantasy. He is not being drafted anywhere near that and should provide excellent value and contend for ADP MVP.

Blake Griffin – He will be force fed the rock and the numbers will be appreciable. He is not our pick for ROY, but at 17 and 8 will outplay his draft position as the 13th-17th off of the board.

Michael Beasley – Another number one pick on this sleeper list??

Yes. We are still not sure why marijuana warrants rehab, or why Beasley did not get more of a role on the Miami Heat last year, but this is year 2 and things are going to change. Michael Beasley is immensely talented and playing beside a big like J.O will only help the versatile Beasley find space on the floor. Beasley on talent alone, is a top 10 player in the NBA, however it is doubtful he will see that elite level in fantasy until he gets his own team. Beasley is getting a lot of hate in drafts and is getting drafted after backups like Odom, Boozer and Kaman. Draft with the knowledge that Wade knows Beasley is his most talented teammate.

Tyler Hansbrough – A former NCAA player of the year, a sleeper??

Yes. He is actually going undrafted in some leagues right now, so he is a definite sleeper. He wont wow anyone with scoring or flashiness, but he is an effective basketball player who seems primed for a Anderson Varajeo type of career and rookie season. 9 and 9 seems likely for this player……..to put this in perspective, Horford as a rookie averaged 9 and 9 and was in ROY talk.
