and he has never played at this high of a level to actually be considered an all-star

If not for the calf injuries he might have had a chance

Now with another top-10 pick in what is expected to be a loaded draft he may never make the ASG as a Raptor

Hey Dan,

I feel you, however I have serious reservations about whether or not he will actually be named to the squad with the Raptors being such a poor team

Just because someone is a poor judge of talent doesnt mean that the talent wasnt there all along for others to see, if you catch my drifty drift.

I don't think bringing Bargnani off the bench will accomplish much. He'd still be playing heavy minutes, which means he'll be playing against 1st string players often, and his defense and rebounding weaknesses will still be on display.

On the other hand, if you think his minutes will be limited as a reserve, then there simply wouldn't be enough opportunity to win a 6th man award.

Either way, Bargnani does little to help this team win.

ok, hating starts again. Right now there are only 3 players with superior talent on the roster: bargnani (one of the best scorers), evans (one of the best rebounders) and derozan (one of the best athletes in the league)
but they have weeknesses, derozan can't shoot, reggie can't score, andrea doesn't rebound the ball. Others are interesting players but nothing special, good potential, but now they need to grow. The solution can't be trade one of the few talented players, specially when no one of the free agents want to sign toronto.

Can you do me a favor and send above messages regarding Bargnani to Bryan Colangelo? I agree 100%. We already have tried Bargnani project with Bosh, where Bosh played C and Bargnani played PF. This failed, i don't really mind, since Bosh ain't good defender either. BUT we had J.O'neal~! J'O from INDIANA One of the Top defensive C/PF there was. but Bargnani Project still failed. ED ain't C he is natural PF i know he gained few more lbs so his like 233lbs or something, but he AIN'T C. A.J ain't C as well. It will be just pathetic and painful to watch Bargnani's inefficient games this season and probably next season when Jonas comes. I really hope someone from MLSE goes to BC and say out loud. "BC Bargnani Project Failed! we have younger players to develop! Stop this madness and LET OUR YOUNGS DEVELOP and IMPROVE their games~!." Sigh......

Hey Dinos,

I agree, however I also think it is a year too late

I firmly believe that starting AJ or Ed Davis at C could not have been worse than AB and that we should have tried it last year regardless if the Chandler deal was nixed.

AB's main issue besides defensive ineptness is that he shoots too much and is too inefficient

With that said I think he can contend for sixth man of the year if used by the Raptors in this manner.

The team needs talent and there is no need to use this close for Andrea.
Let him play at his natural position first, for this season and then if he fails at his new role, they must think of getting rid of him if they want. But at least give him the opportunity. The team is not in a position right now to lose players like that. It lacks of quantity and quality in roster. Dont destroy the team in the name of "rebuilding".
